How Las Vegas honored its own
A three-part series for the City of Las Vegas honoring community icons on three awareness days, shot campy, bold and unapologetically gaudy.
The City of Las Vegas commissioned a three-part series, How To Be 🌈 in Las Vegas, to honor community icons on three awareness days: Lesbian Visibility Day, Transgender Day of Visibility, and National Honor Our LGBT Elders Day. Momentous led production alongside four agency partners: Hogarth, Grey, Gramercy Park and Townhouse.
The style brief was campy, unique, bold and retro: luxury, self-expression, and an embrace of the gaudy. The mood board ran from Liberace to ballroom voguing to Paris Is Burning.
Campy. Unique. Bold. Retro. Embrace the gaudy. The style brief
Production, cinematography, editing. One crew, start to finish.

Drai's Beach Club and Night Club, and the Strip in a rented convertible. A rented Liberace Mansion. Archival footage and a rented theater. Every setting does some of the storytelling.
Retro color, big silhouettes and references from Liberace to ballroom voguing to Paris Is Burning. The excess is the point.
The City called the series a success, and the community received the videos well.
The work didn't stop there: the same partners went on to build Meanwhile, In Vegas.
